Senior Media Planner


We need a Senior Media Planner! We’re talking about an integral part of the 2e Media Team who plays a lead role in planning, managing, and optimizing digital solutions for our healthcare clients.

The Senior Media Planner will serve as a key strategist on larger, more complex accounts developing media strategies for our clients and their brands across portfolios. The Senior Media Planner will also own the media plan development, implementation and performance reporting. She/he will stay curious about emerging trends, technologies and platforms for online engagement and use their expertise to provide rationale to brand stakeholders. They are someone that views media as an opportunity for the brand to provide value and meaning to both patients and Healthcare Practitioners (HCP) alike.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Media Strategy and Activation
    • Work with Account Services team to understand client objectives, target audiences, business goals, parameters, and brand priorities.
    • Leads the development of RFPs, issuance to media partners, and the evaluation of proposals for client consideration.
    • Apply media planning fundamentals (math, terminology, etc.) to strategy.
    • Apply research and data insights to inform story telling of the media strategy.
    • Develop detailed media plans that represent the holistic strategy and direction of the brand to reach their key audiences for our more complex accounts.
    • Leverage first and third-party data to develop audience first strategies and approaches to most effective reach/engage with target audiences.
  • Activation, Reporting and Budget Management
    • Work with Campaign Ops/Analytics to implement media tactics across all media channels
    • Conduct regular management and monitoring of media campaigns and channels
    • Aggregate media performance and analytics across all channels and create weekly, monthly and/or quarterly reports for clients.
    • Provide recommendations for optimizations based on media performance and analytics.
    • Update monthly budget pacing document and flowchart for client review.
    • Work closely with finance on media billing reconciliation.
  • Internal Team Collaboration
    • Keep Associate Media Director informed of client activities.
    • Training and mentoring junior level employees.
    • Collaborate across departments to ensure over-arching strategy to deliver clients goals and objectives.
    • Assist senior management on an as-needed basis with new business development.

 

Supervisory Responsibility

Assists Associate Media Director in growing Media Planners and Media Coordinators skillset.

 

Travel Expectations

This position may require periodic travel. Depending on client needs, expect travel of between <10%.

 

DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • 5+ years of relevant agency or client-side experience.
  • Strong knowledge of activating digital media campaigns (e.g. optimizations, pacing, building media plans and billing).
  • Training and mentoring junior level employees.
  • Experience drafting and issuing RFPs, leading Q&A and negotiating with vendors
  • Experience working within media and research tools including Google Analytics, Kantar, comScore, DCM, and/or other relevant tools.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills, take initiative, proactive and self-motivated
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Friendly, team player- self-motivated, excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication; problem solving, and decision-making skills required.
  • Strong math skills and understanding of Microsoft tools required.
  • Understanding of Keynote required.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking capabilities a must
  • Strict attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with pharmaceutical and healthcare industries is a plus.
