Internship 2015

Internship Chronicles: Week 1

On Wednesdays, we wear pink.

Last week, you met us. Now, you get to keep up with us. Welcome to the soon-to-be much anticipated Internship Chronicles, our weekly column where we report on the going ons of our summer here at 2e.

To be honest, when we first got here we thought it would be a little bit like being back in high school. The first day of lunch, we sat by ourselves. Day 2: we sat by ourselves. The third day? We got called out for sitting by ourselves.

But the culture is only the half of it.

You Can't Sit With Us

In addition to getting our own client, we’ve also stayed busy getting to know our way around the business side of 2e.

Matt made a brochure for one of the agency’s other clients, and this week is learning how to throw together a presentation deck. He’s also the mastermind behind the graphics you’ll see on these posts every week.

Sam is currently knee-deep in the discovery process, which is done every time 2e gets a new client. It’s all questions and answers and research. It’s not the most fun part of the work, but it’s pretty vital.

Bekah has been working on blog posts like this one and a few other little copy assignments here and there. But she’s had the most fun in brainstorming sessions where she’s pitched in a few ideas.

As a whole, we’ve learned what a conference call is like and how our counterparts in design, copy, and accounts all work together. We’ve learned that it’s not all Mad Men-esque prestige and mystery but an environment that fosters creativity and openness. It’s a place where we feel good about what we’re doing and we’re excited to drag our sleep-deprived bodies from our beds at 7:00 AM and come into work.

We’ve also learned not to bring anything for lunch that holds up the microwave line for five minutes.
