2e Bake Off: Holiday Cookies
Saturday, December 24, 2016
Tis the season for gift exchanges, holiday parties, and lots and lots of food. Never ones to pass the chance to flex our creative muscles, we got into the spirit and changed our medium to the edible kind for the first 2e Bake Off: Holiday Cookie edition, complete with trophy made of gold. Maybe not real gold, but gold paint was definitely involved.
It’s About to Get Real: Bake Off Rules
1) All cookies must be HOMEMADE! Bars count.
2) You may bring in different types of cookies, but there have to be enough to be judged.
3) Each person gets three anonymous votes for their favorite cookies, with the Super Judge’s input to determine the winner.
No exemptions and no special treatment here. Judges (AKA hungry, cookie-craving employees) and one secret Super Judge indulged in milk, eggnog, Gluhwein, and several different types of cookies before determining first and second place.
With the star snackers for the win, Amy Figurel, Director of Resource and Delivery, created some festive cookies that were dangerously snackable. Account-Manager-by-day and Top-Chef-by-night Kate Yates rightfully took second place for her beautiful sugar cookies that were almost too pretty to eat. Last place also got a prize: a cookbook, naturally. We have big hopes for Dustin on the next bake off.
Special thanks to Alicia and 2Crew for arranging this treat for us. De-lish!
