Local creative firm spawns new employeesMagical beans yield powerhouse new talent for 2e CreativeST. LOUIS :: FEBRUARY 2010 &ndash St. Louis-based brand communications firm 2e Creative this month announced its continuing business expansion and resulting new hires, Interactive Designer Devon Hirth and Finance Manager Debbie Akins. The latest 2e recruits will be filling the firm's ongoing need for top talent to handle workload demand that has already exceeded the company's initial projections for the entire 2010 year.
The demand for resources has been exceptionally high in the company's Interactive Media Department, as clients clamor more than ever for 2e's electronic and Web capabilities. The team consequently has become the fastest growing in the company.
"We play a significant role in almost everything 2e produces, so downtime has been pretty much nonexistent," Interactive Creative Director Jay Gaines said. "Hiring Devon definitely gave us the edge we needed."
Hirth, a recent graduate of Maryville University in St. Louis, has already dazzled clients and 2e-ers alike with his creative skills. We'll also be tapping into his passion for fine art ? along with his cool command over the latest tech-tools and software ? to give our work that serendipitous je ne sais quois.
Meanwhile, the steady rise in business has also kept 2e's business end, well, busy.
"We've all had plenty to do around here," Company Principal Ross Toohey said. "And with more business comes more financial administration. Or as the late Notorious BIG once told me while cruising the Caymans on his private yacht, ?Mo' money, mo' problems.' Miss you, buddy."
With perfectly suited new hire Debbie Akins, however, 2e has begun turning mo' problems into positive growth. Akins, an accounting and information systems extraordinaire, brings a wealth of experience to 2e, including past gigs at law, investment and architecture firms, with responsibilities ranging from specialized database design and programming to full-cycle accounting processes.
At 2e, Akins helps us hold on to our hard-earned money instead of blowing it on macaroni and pipe cleaners.
Creative Principal Joe Toohey expressed relief with the addition of the new 2e-ers, saying, "Our workload is more manageable, our finances are getting the attention they deserve, and we're all breathing a lot easier."
Toohey also cited his new air purifier as a possible factor.
