When Alcon asked us to turn a massive presentation deck into an employee engagement tool, we responded by developing a creative concept that may come in a box, but was definitely thought of outside of it.


THE CHALLENGE

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Alcon for many years. And in March 2014, the ophthalmic giant received some exciting news for their surgical division: a new Summary of Safety and Effectiveness Data (SSED) for WAVELIGHT®, a study basically summarizing the effectiveness of using Topography-guided custom ablation treatments (T-CAT) to manage Myopia and Myopic Astigmatism. After launching an incredibly effective and popular digital experience that funneled the study data — 52-presentation-slides worth of facts and figures — into useful, comprehensible infographics and factoids, Alcon asked 2e to take the reigns again and build a tool to help their sales force learn the information without rote memorization.


THE STRATEGY

How could we develop an inviting way for members of the Alcon sales team to learn 52 slides worth of study data? We needed to come up with a solution for making the information easily digestible, fun, and not overwhelming. At the same time, we didn’t want to compromise the information by watering it down. Taking a closer look at the presentation deck Alcon had provided, a rather unorthodox idea came to us.
